The terms as-built drawings, record drawings and as-constructed drawings are often used interchangeably in the construction industry.
In practice, “as-built” commonly describes information recording the final constructed condition, while “record drawings” may refer to the controlled final drawing set issued for project records or handover.

What Our Laser Survey Does — and Does Not — Record
A 3D laser scanner measures visible surfaces and accessible geometry. It does not see through walls or automatically identify concealed construction, hidden pipework, buried utilities or other elements that are not visible during the survey.
If your handover specification requires concealed MEP services, underground utilities, structural verification or other specialist information, tell us before the survey. We can then confirm what can be included within our scope and what may require separate specialist records or investigation.
Important: an as-built survey records the completed geometry within the agreed survey scope. It does not by itself certify workmanship, construction quality or statutory compliance.
Accuracy and Level of Detail
The correct level of detail depends on how the drawings will be used. A simple architectural handover plan may require a different specification from detailed heritage documentation, fit-out records or a BIM workflow.
